Anyone who is interested in knowing more recent views about some of the topics that Prof.Subavee has mentioned in this talk can refer to some of Stephen Hawking's books, starting from "A Brief History of Time" to the most recent one titled "Black Holes and Baby Universes". These books are written for the non-scientists. He has also written two books that contain details about the life and works of Western philosophers, mathematicians and physicists who shaped the western philosophical and scientific thought. The book "God created the integers" is about mathematicians and philosophers like Rene Descartes. The book "On the shoulders of Giants" is about physicists starting from Copernicus to Einstein. Both these books have technical as well as non-technical stuff.
For ancient eastern thoughts on atheism and rationalism, one can refer to books on Samkya, Nyaya and Vaiseshika schools of philosophy, along with buddhist texts. Samkya and Nyaya philosophies have atheist arguments. Nyaya and Vaiseshika are closely related and Nyaya especially deals in logic and knowledge.
